Deliveries, drivers and customer tracking
Dispatch an order, give the driver what they need, and let the customer watch it come.
1 min read
Deliveries are dispatched from the order and followed to the door, whether you run your own riders or hand the job to somebody else.
Dispatching
- Set your delivery zones and what each one costs.
- Assign the delivery to a driver.
- The driver works from their phone: their jobs, the address, the customer's number, and buttons for picked up, in transit and delivered.
- Proof of delivery can be a photo or a signature.
Note — Drivers do not need a full account. A casual rider can work from an SMS link rather than a login, which matters when you use different riders week to week.
The customer's side
The customer gets a tracking link and can watch the driver's position on a map, without an account. That one link removes most of the calls asking where the order is.
Money and failures
Cash collected on delivery is recorded against the driver and reconciled when they come back, so what a rider owes is a figure rather than a conversation. Failed and cancelled deliveries stay visible with their reason.
Tip — If you would rather not run riders at all, orders can be pushed to a third-party service such as Yango instead. Larger plans can also plan multi-stop routes rather than sending a rider out one drop at a time.
