We didn't build MerxumOS in a boardroom. We built it in the market.
MerxumOS was founded in 2025 by a team of operators, engineers, and designers who had spent years watching African businesses suffer from the same unsolvable problem: the software they needed either didn't exist, cost too much, or was too complex for a team without a dedicated IT department.
We saw pharmacies losing money to expired stock they couldn't track. Restaurants failing because orders between the table and kitchen were scribbled on paper. Wholesalers managing route sales from spreadsheets that were always out of date. Multi-branch retailers with no single view of their own business.
We knew the software could exist. We just had to build it. And we had to build it for these specific conditions: offline-first, mobile-accessible, quick to set up, and priced at a level that an owner-operator in their first year of business could afford.
So we did. In 2025, from Accra, Ghana, MerxumOS launched. We started with a POS system so clean and reliable that our first customers were showing it off to their neighbours. From there, we built inventory management, then AI-powered analytics, then a full ERP suite. Every feature came from a direct conversation with a business owner.
Today, a growing group of businesses across multiple industries run on MerxumOS — and we're only just getting started.
