Audit trails, sign-in codes and lost devices

What gets recorded, how to make sign-in stronger, and what to do when a device goes missing.

    1 min read

The point of an audit trail is not suspicion — it is being able to settle a question with a record instead of an argument.

    What is recorded

    • Who changed a price, gave a discount, or voided a sale.
    • Every stock movement, and who made it.
    • Changes to staff records, roles and permissions.
    • Cash-up differences at the end of a shift.

    Making sign-in stronger

    1. Require a code as well as a password at sign-in.
    2. Restrict access to particular devices or networks if you want the system usable only from the shop.
    3. Review active sessions and end any you do not recognise.

If a laptop or till goes missing

Because the system runs online, a lost device is an inconvenience rather than a disaster — sign in on another one and carry on. End the missing device's session remotely, and unpair it so it can no longer act as a registered till.

Tip — Your data is yours, and you can export it whenever you want. It is not shared with other businesses on the platform and it is not sold.
