The call log and knowing who to ring today
Record every call against what it was about, and work a queue of people who actually need calling.
1 min read
Most businesses lose money in the gap between something going wrong and somebody phoning about it. The call log closes that gap.
What a call records
Who was called, when, how long it lasted, what was said and what was promised. Crucially, a call links to the thing it was about — an overdue account, an order, a delivery that failed, a prescription that was only partly dispensed — so the history reads as a story rather than a list of numbers.
The call queue
The queue tells your team who to ring today, built from what the business already knows:
- Accounts past their due date, oldest and largest first.
- Callbacks that were promised on an earlier call and have come due.
- Regular customers who have stopped coming in.
Note — A customer who asks not to be called is marked, and the queue respects it.
Tip — Write the outcome on the call, not in your head. The value of the log is the next person picking up where you left off.
